The robotics club "RoboLab" at Utsunomiya Campus won 2nd and 3rd place in the Japan Robot ContestUtsunomiya Campus

On August 22nd (Sat) and 23rd (Sun), 2026, the World Robot Olympiad Japan 2026 was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Hamamatsucho Hall (Minato-ku, Tokyo), and Teikyo University Utsunomiya Campus' robot club "RoboLab" won 2nd and 3rd place in the Future Engineers category.
This competition is open to high school students, university students, and technical college students, and is a contest where participants compete in advanced robot control technology with the themes of AI and autonomous driving robots. Six teams from our university's RoboLab participated, and Teikyo Robotica came in 2nd place and Teikyo Capilabo came in 3rd place, achieving excellent results.
Team Teikyo Robotica, comprised of Tomoki Kure (2nd year, Faculty of Science and Engineering) and Tomohisa Suzuki (2nd year, Faculty of Science and Engineering), was the only team to successfully adapt to the surprise rules and achieved the highest score. However, they were overtaken in the evaluation of their project design document, and unfortunately missed out on qualifying for the world competition to be held in Puerto Rico in November. This experience will serve as a stepping stone for further growth, including the contributions of the first-year students.
