On Sunday, September 6, 2026, three first-year students from Teikyo University (Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology Department of Radiological Technology) and Kazuya Tsunoda from the same department (Assistant Professor) participated in the “Omuta Everyone’s Health Expo ’26” held at the Denka Omuta Cultural Hall (Omuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture), where theyThey ran a booth titled “Let’s Measure Radiation in Everyday Foods!!.”
In this corner, by measuring radiation in everyday foods, the students explored the relationship between food and radiation while introducing radiation—which is normally invisible—as a familiar aspect of science.
This exhibition allowed local residents to experience a part of what is taught in Department of Radiological Technology, and also provided participating students with an opportunity to deepen their learning through interaction with local people.
Fukuoka Campus will continue to engage in activities that support the health and scientific understanding of the local community through experiences and information dissemination that utilize knowledge in specialized fields.
