The Tokyo Metropolitan University Baseball Autumn League season has begun.

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, the autumn league season of the Tokyo Metropolitan University Baseball League, to which Teikyo University's baseball team belongs, began.

The first division autumn league matches will be played in a round-robin format with six schools, where each team must win two games to earn points. In case of a tie in points, the ranking will be determined by winning percentage. Our university's baseball team has adopted "Soaring and Striving" as its team slogan for 2026, and under the leadership of captain Kazuharu Yamada (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology), the team will work together to aim for the first division league championship.
The opening game was held at Ota Stadium (Ota Ward, Tokyo) against Tokai University. The opening pitcher was Akihito Yamaguchi (3rd year, Faculty of Medical Technology), making his first start in the league, and he pitched well with tenacious pitching, allowing no runs in 5 innings. In the 2nd inning, Kensuke Asada (2nd year, Faculty of Medical Technology) hit his first home run of the league to take the lead, and the team held the lead in the early innings, but they allowed a comeback in the later innings, leaving some issues to be addressed.

The second game, scheduled for Sunday, September 6th, has been postponed due to rain. The next game will be against Tsukuba University on Saturday, September 12th at the Nippon Sport Science University Kenshidai Baseball Stadium (Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture).
