Associate Professor Masakazu Hirota of the Department Department of Orthoptics Faculty of Medical Technology has been awarded the title of a Teikyo University-born venture company at the ItabashiItabashi Campus

On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the Teikyo University Teikyo Technology Transfer Center held a ceremony at the Itabashi Itabashi Campus to award the title of Teikyo University-born venture company, and presented the eighth such title to ManaVix Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ManaVix), a venture company originating from the university.
At our university, we award this corporate title to university-launched venture companies that utilize the university's intellectual property, research results, or human resources.

The award ceremony was attended by Masakazu Faculty of Medical Technology Department of Orthoptics Associate Professor Hirota, President and CEO of ManaVix, along with Ryusei Takigawa Assistant Professor and Shinya Takahashi (Graduate School of Medical Care and Technology, 1st year doctoral program), who are also conducting research in the same department Teikyo Technology Transfer Center. Under the facilitation of Hotaka Nakanishi, Dean and Special Appointment Professor Hotaka Nakanishi, Chairman President Yoshihito Okinaga presented Associate Professor Hirota with the title insignia.

Associate Professor Hirota was selected for a business development support program in 2024 and won an excellence award in a business contest, after which he established ManaVix in 2026. ManaVix focuses on myopia in children and presbyopia in middle-aged and elderly people, and under the concept of "learning vision ^*", it uses applications and tablet devices to analyze and evaluate vision, and visualizes individual vision challenges, thereby supporting improved learning and work performance. Furthermore, leveraging his own experience as orthoptist, Associate Professor Hirota is also developing educational and consulting services that provide advanced know-how related to vision.
ManaVix is expected to play an even greater role in addressing learning and employment handicaps caused by vision problems.
