Notice Regarding Research Misconduct Investigation at Teikyo University's Faculty of Science and Engineering

Following a report of suspected false statements (fabrication or falsification) in a paper published in January 2026 by a faculty member of this university, we established an investigative committee and conducted an investigation. As a result, as outlined in this investigation report, while the work does not fall under "specific misconduct" such as fabrication or falsification, it was determined to be research misconduct that constitutes a "significant deviation from research ethics," and we are now making the details of this determination public.

We take this incident, which involved a failure to fulfill the fundamental responsibilities of a researcher, very seriously. To prevent such actions from being repeated in the future, we intend to further disseminate research ethics and codes of conduct throughout the university and work to prevent the recurrence of misconduct.
