On Saturday, July 25, 2026, 42 volunteers from Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology participated in the "Omuta Daijayama Festival" held in the central area of Omuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
The faculty aims to cultivate individuals who can contribute to regional healthcare, and as part of its community service activities, it participates in the "Ten Thousand People's Grand Dance" every year.
On the day of the event, all participants wore red happi coats and Teikyo University uniforms and paraded down the main street, which was closed to traffic. Dancing to the rhythms of "Tanko-bushi" and "Orochiyama Bayashi," the students deepened their interactions with local residents and thoroughly enjoyed this summer tradition of Omuta. Despite the intense heat, the students kept smiles on their faces throughout, responding to the cheers and applause from the roadside and enlivening the festival, showcasing the appeal of the university to the local community with their unified presence.
After the grand finale of the dance, the Gion Rokuyama procession, competition, and final performance took place, and the venue was bustling with many visitors, enveloped in the excitement of the festival.
Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology will continue to actively engage in Community Engagement.
