Professor Yamazaki of Faculty of Languages and Cultures spoke at a training session for junior and senior high school teachers aimed at improving the educational effectiveness of school trips to Taiwan, held atKasumigaseki Campus

On Friday, July 31, 2026,at Teikyo University (Kasumigaseki Campus), the second session of the training workshop for middle and high school teachers titled “How to Plan a Taiwan Study Tour That Both Students and Teachers Can Enjoy: From Preparation to Follow-Up Learning”—specifically the practical session “Enjoying Taiwan”—was held. Naoya Yamazaki of our university (Faculty of Languages and Cultures, Department of Foreign Languages, Professor) took the stage as the presenter (Senior Assistant Professor).

This training seminar is part of a two-part course organized by the NPO Japan-Taiwan Education Support Researchers Network (SNET Taiwan), of which Professor Yamazaki is the representative director. Professor Yamazaki served as Senior Assistant Professor for both the first session, "Understanding Taiwan: Basic Course," which was held online on July 24th (Friday).
Approximately 50 people participated in the event, both in person and online. Professor Yamazaki gave a lecture titled "Upgrading B&S/Group Activities with SNET Taiwan's Teaching Materials," discussing how to design half-day and full-day itineraries with clear educational objectives and themes, as well as how to conduct pre-trip learning to deepen learning at classic Taiwanese school trip spots such as Jiufen, Longshan Temple, and Wushantou Dam.
In addition, the training sessions included lectures by Taiwanese studies researchers on the safety of school trips to Taiwan and ways to improve the quality of pre-trip learning and inter-school exchanges. High schools from Tokyo, Saitama, and Nagano prefectures also presented case studies of good practices, leading to lively discussions on how to enhance educational effectiveness. The two training sessions were a fulfilling event that contributed to the outreach of Taiwanese studies and the promotion of high school-university collaboration.

Our university will continue to support our faculty members' original research and their proactive dissemination of research results to the local community and society.
