The first lecture meeting of the 2026 fiscal year, organized by the Kanto Branch of the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE), was held at the Automotive Technology Center,Utsunomiya Campus

On Thursday, July 2, 2026, the first lecture of 2026, "Universities Challenging the Cutting Edge of Next-Generation Mobility Technology - From the 'Front Lines' of Automotive, Robotics, AI, and Aerospace," was held at the Automotive Technology Center of Teikyo University, hosted by the Kanto Branch of the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE). The JSAE is one of the largest engineering societies in Japan in terms of membership. This lecture was held at the request of the JSAE's Kanto Branch with the aim of allowing participants to experience the technological implementation capabilities of universities through facilities that serve as actual research and educational sites, and to consider the current state and future vision of next-generation mobility technology.

The event began with opening remarks, followed by a presentation on Teikyo University by Masayuki Arai, Director of the Faculty of Science and Engineering.Next, lectures were given by Yuichi Hasuda of our university’s Faculty of Science and Engineering Department of Integrated Science and Engineering Professor on “Human Resource Development through Robotics and AI Education,” and by Akira Kato of our university’s Automotive Technology Department Head of Center on “Environmental Issues Centered on Global Warming and Recent Developments in Automotive Electrification.” Following this, participants split into three groups for a facility tour.During the tour, participants were given introductions and explanations of the Automotive Technology Center, the Spacecraft Research and Development Center, the aircraft hangar, and the training workshop.
In the post-event participant survey, there was a great deal of positive feedback regarding the cross-disciplinary content spanning the automotive, aviation, and aerospace fields, as well as the lectures and tour. Comments included: “The tour of the university facilities and the comprehensive coverage of these three fields are particularly noteworthy,”and “I was impressed by just how broad Teikyo University’s fields of activity are. I hope to see more interaction between the university and industry.” Additionally, the Kanto Branch of the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan sent a letter of appreciation regarding the event to the journal *Automotive Technology* (Head of Center) and offered high praise for the event.
