We conducted an internship program at Utsunomiya CampusUtsunomiya Campus focusing on career choices and inquiry-based learning.

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, an internship program focused on career choices and inquiry-based learning was held at Teikyo University's Utsunomiya Campus. This program was designed for high school students, allowing them to choose themes that interested them from lectures, hands-on classes, and laboratory experiences offered by faculty members from the humanities, sciences, and medical fields. The goal was to help them create a schedule and experience university classes throughout the day, which would be useful in their faculty selection and inquiry-based learning.
On the day of the event, over 1,400 high school students from 11 schools both within and outside the prefecture visited the campus. In addition to faculty from the Utsunomiya Campus, faculty from Itabashi Campus and Hachioji Campus also participated, and a total of 145 lectures were held. In the hands-on classes, students from Utsunomiya Campus were seen acting as assistants, explaining the content of the lectures and supporting the students' experiences. For the high school students, it was a great opportunity not only to get a glimpse of university learning but also to imagine their future through interaction with students. The participating high school students shared comments such as, "It was interesting to learn about fields I had never studied before, and I feel like my way of thinking and perspective have broadened a little," "It was great because it gave me a chance to find out what I'm good at and what interests me," "It was fun to talk with university students," and "I want to connect what I learned to my research activities and do my best to give a good presentation."
