Graduate School of Public Health held the Teikyo International Summer School 2026 atItabashi Campus

From July 6th (Monday) to 14th (Tuesday), 2026, the Teikyo International Summer School, hosted by Graduate School of Public Health at Teikyo Graduate School, was held at Itabashi Campus and various facilities in Tokyo. This year, a total of 12 people, including students, doctors, and faculty members, from the University of University of Southern California of School of Medicine, an academic partner institution, participated.
The Teikyo International Summer School is an annual program that utilizes the educational methods developed by our graduate school in collaboration with Harvard University, and attracts many students from outside the university, including students from our partner institutions overseas.

The program consisted of two courses: "Universal Health Coverage and Aging Society" in the first half and "Healthcare Management" in the second half. In addition to lectures, participants deepened their understanding of Japan's medical and long-term care system, support for vulnerable people, organizational behavior, leadership, and communication through group work, photovoice-based reflection, presentations, and lively discussions.
Furthermore, we visited Teikyo University Hospital, Taito Public Health Center, Kaga Sakura no Mori Special Nursing Home for the Elderly, Kita Ward Disaster Prevention Center, and Community Center akta. This provided us with valuable opportunities to learn about the realities of Japanese healthcare, public health, elderly care, disaster prevention education, and HIV prevention activities, and to consider community-based initiatives and the role that communities play in public health.
Our university students also participated in lectures and exchanges, and through the time they spent learning together, transcending their specialized fields and cultural backgrounds, many new connections were formed during the nine-day program.

Teikyo University will continue to work towards developing highly skilled domestic and international talent through internationalization.
