A special lecture titled "In the AI Era, You Decide Your Own Destination" was given by Mr. Takahisa Miyauchi, former Vice President of Mitsubishi Corporation, atHachioji Campus

On Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Teikyo University Hachioji Campus, our university's Faculty of Economics Department of Business Administration Professor Naoki Tsukada seminar invited Mr. Takahisa Miyauchi, former Vice President and CEO of Kanda University of International Studies and President, to give a special lecture.

On the day of the event, themed "Let's make full use of AI," students grappled with questions such as "Where do I come from?", "Who am I?", and "Where do I want to go?", using Paul Gauguin's masterpiece "Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?" as their subject matter.
Each student reflected on their origins, values, and future goals, sharing their thoughts and aspirations in their own words. For students currently engaged in job hunting, it was a valuable opportunity to reflect on their past and re-evaluate their future lives.
At the end of the lecture, Mr. Miyauchi said, "AI can tell you how to get there, but you have to decide where you're going," emphasizing to the students the importance of expressing their own thoughts in their own words.
Through this lecture, students learned the importance of thinking for themselves and making their own choices about what they want to aim for and what kind of life they want to lead, rather than leaving those decisions to others or AI, especially in this era of rapidly evolving AI.

At our university, we will continue to respect the diverse learning styles of each student and provide practical and meticulous career support. Furthermore, we will strive to enhance our educational programs, which are mindful of their connection to society, and work towards nurturing the talent that will shape the future.
