Teikyo University Rugby Football Club won their first championship at the "Nanohana Pharmacy Japan Sevens 2026" atHachioji Campus

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the Nanohana Pharmacy Japan Sevens 2026 held at Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium (Minato Ward, Tokyo), Teikyo University Rugby Football Club achieved its first-ever victory.

This tournament, featuring 10 top teams from across Japan, was held as the highest-level 7-a-side rugby tournament in the country. Our university team advanced through the rounds, showcasing our characteristic speed and organizational strength. In the final against the Akita Sevens team, we dominated both offensively and defensively, winning 31-5 and achieving the remarkable feat of becoming the first ever Japan Sevens champions.
Our university's Rugby Football Club also won the 27th East Japan University Sevens Rugby Football Tournament held in April, achieving a double victory in sevens tournaments this season. They fully demonstrated the team strength they had built up since spring on the national stage, resulting in a significant achievement that will serve as a valuable asset for the future.

This victory gives us a great boost heading into the Kanto University Rugby Championship, which begins in September. We ask for your continued warm support for our university Rugby Football Club as we continue our challenge to become the best university rugby team in Japan.
