On Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the 54th Kanto Intercollegiate Karate Championships held at the Tsutayukan Hall on the Teikyo University Hachioji Campus Campus (Hachioji City, Tokyo), the Teikyo University Karate Club achieved a triple crown, winning first place in the women's individual kata and both men's and women's individual kumite. This tournament is an open-weight individual competition that also serves as a qualifier for the All Japan Intercollegiate Karate Championships. As this tournament was held at our university, the Teikyo University Karate Club also made preparations in advance. On the day of the tournament, the venue was filled with enthusiasm as students from each university showcased the results of their daily training. Furthermore, Kotomi Sato (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology) achieved her second consecutive victory, following her win last year.

As a result of this tournament, the following students have qualified to participate in the 70th All Japan Intercollegiate Karate Championships, which will be held on June 27th (Sat) and 28th (Sun) at the Victorina Wink Gymnasium (Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture).
