Fukuoka Fukuoka CampusFukuoka Campus a work experience program for students from Omuta Municipal Miki Junior High School.

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, Teikyo University's Fukuoka Campus hosted a work experience program for five second-year junior high school students from Omuta Municipal Miki Junior High School.
This time, we implemented a program that combined lectures, tours, and hands-on experiences led by faculty members, with the themes of "Getting to Know Teikyo University" and "Learning About the Work of People Who Work at the University (Administrative Staff Edition and Faculty Edition)."
First, Keizo Wanai, Senior Assistant Professor Medical Engineering Course Department of Medical Technology Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, and Teaching Associate in the same course, gave an introduction to the activities of the Wanai seminar and a hands-on experience of working as a clinical engineer. The students struggled with the difficulty of operating actual medical equipment, but with the cooperation of five students from the course, they seemed to enjoy the experience.
Next, a staff member gave a presentation to deepen the participants' understanding of the work of university administrative staff. Participants also practiced exchanging business cards using original designs, learning the basics of business etiquette.
Furthermore, the students gained experience in tasks such as reception duties at on-campus meetings and working in the library. There were instances where students proactively spoke to faculty and staff, and although they seemed nervous, they appeared to be enjoying the experience.
Finally, we concluded the program with a message from Katsuhiko Kajiwara, General Manager Fukuoka Campus.
The participating students shared comments such as, "My image of university has completely changed," and "It broadened my perspective on the future, and it was a very good experience." Through this work experience program, we were able to deepen our interaction with junior high school students in Omuta City and also give them the opportunity to think about what is important when it comes to working, making it a meaningful time for our university as well.

At Fukuoka Campus, we will continue to actively engage in Community Engagement emphasizing our relationship with the local area.
