Our university's Rugby Football Club received a donation of Wajima lacquerware from Taya Lacquerware Store.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the Teikyo University Rugby Football Club received a Wajima lacquerware panel artwork as a donation from Taya Lacquerware Co., Ltd., a long-established Wajima lacquerware company.

Since November 2025, our university's Rugby Football Club has been displaying the logo "Noto Tomo - Friendship with Noto -" on their uniforms, a logo that embodies our hopes for the recovery of Noto. This initiative came about when our university consulted with Taya Lacquerware Store, with whom we had a connection, because we wanted to contribute to the recovery from the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. They kindly cooperated in creating the logo and displaying it on our uniforms.
The company has generously donated a piece of artwork to our university's Rugby Football Club, expressing their gratitude for the club's activities to date. The artwork features the club's logo and is created using the traditional Wajima Rugby Football Club technique of maki-e. This piece showcases the delicate craftsmanship of traditional techniques and the beauty of Wajima lacquerware.

Our university expresses its deepest gratitude for this generous gesture, and, guided by the sentiments embodied in the "Nototomo" logo, we will strive to support the recovery of Noto through the power of "empathy" and "connection" that sports possess.
