On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus, in collaboration with the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Startup and Business Succession Committee, we invited Mr. Token Kimoto, President and CEO of SUPERNOVA Co., Ltd., as a guest speaker to the "Entrepreneurship Workshop" lecture given by Associate Professor Kohei Mitsunami of the Department Faculty of Economics, Department of Business Administration Economics, Teikyo University. The event was held with the aim of fostering entrepreneurship.
While at NTT Docomo, Mr. Kimoto played a key role in launching "ahamo," a pricing plan tailored to the digital native generation, and the in-house venture program "docomo STARTUP." He himself utilized this program to establish "SUPERNOVA Inc.," a venture company aiming to implement cutting-edge technologies, primarily generative AI, into society.
In his lecture, Mr. Kimoto spoke candidly in a friendly atmosphere about his experiences at NTT Docomo and the challenges and rewards he faced when founding SUPERNOVA Co., Ltd. Over 300 students, including those currently job hunting and those aspiring to start their own businesses, attended the lecture, listening attentively with great interest in Mr. Kimoto's career of "starting a venture company while working for a large corporation." Even after the lecture ended, students lined up to ask questions, making it a warm and inspiring lecture.
Students who took the course commented, "I felt inspired to take the first step towards starting my own business," and "My motivation increased, and I want to work hard towards my dreams."
This lecture was made possible through a proposal from the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, via the Teikyo Technology Transfer Center of Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization at our university. Our university will continue to strengthen social and industry-government-academia collaboration, promoting interdisciplinary cooperation and cross-campus research systems, while disseminating the results of our education and research aimed at solving the numerous social challenges facing society.
