On Sunday, May 10, 2026, the Teikyo University Calligraphy Club performed a calligraphy demonstration at the 29th Hino Shinsengumi Festival. The Hino Shinsengumi Festival is a major event in Hino City, with a variety of events held in various areas of the city over two days.
The calligraphy club performed at the departure ceremony for the "Shinsengumi Troop Parade," one of the festival's highlights, showcasing two performances related to the festival. When the completed works were displayed, applause erupted from the troupe members and spectators who were watching the performance. The calligraphy club also designed the title for the festival's pamphlet and handprints.
The Teikyo University Calligraphy Club will continue to give back to the community the results of its calligraphy education and research, and will promote stronger ties with the local community through contributions to tourism promotion and regional revitalization.
