The Consul General of Japan in Edinburgh visited our Durham Campus.

On Thursday, February 26, 2026, Mr. Katsutoshi Takeda, Consul General of Japan in Edinburgh, visited Teikyo University's Durham Campus.
As one of our university's overseas group institutions, this campus has been accepting students from Japan and conducting educational activities in collaboration with the neighboring Durham University for over 35 years since its founding in 1990. In addition, every October, it holds the Teikyo Festival as its cultural festival, attracting many local students and residents and promoting Japanese culture and international exchange. Consul General Takeda paid a courtesy visit to our university in conjunction with his new appointment.
On that day, they toured the campus and the library, which boasts the largest collection of Japanese-related books in Northeast England. They also exchanged opinions on the university's activities and potential sponsorship of next year's Teikyo Festival, and discussed future cooperation and collaboration.
Going forward, Durham Campus will continue to promote Japanese culture and foster international exchange as Teikyo University's campus located within the UK.
