On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the Vice President, one Professor, and one administrative staff member from the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) visited Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus for an exchange meeting with faculty and students, as well as a tour of the campus facilities.
SUSS is one of the six national universities in Singapore, and it has signed an MOU (Inter-Departmental International Exchange Agreement) with our Faculty of Medical Technology for the purpose of academic exchange, joint research, and exchange of faculty and students.
From March 12th (Thursday) to 16th (Monday), 2026, Professor Shinji Sato of the Department Department of Sport and Medical Science visited SUSS with the aim of investigating "why elderly people in Singapore have a high level of well-being" and "cross-cultural exchange in Singapore."
This visit was conducted with the aim of promoting academic exchange between the two universities and exploring the possibilities of educational and research collaboration in the fields of medicine, health, and welfare. The university showed strong interest in our educational system and research environment.
On the day of the event, Professor Eisuke Hiruma of the Faculty of Medicine gave a presentation about the university, introducing the characteristics of the university's education and the provision of a practical learning environment. Following this, attendees toured the facilities of the Sports Medicine and Science Center on Hachioji Campus, after which Professor Shinji Sato gave a presentation about the facilities, followed by a lively question-and-answer session.
This visit has further expanded the possibilities for collaborative relationships between our university and SUSS in both education and research. We will continue to actively promote international academic exchange and strive to cultivate individuals with a global perspective.
