Students and faculty from Emergency Medical Technician Course of the Department Department of Sport and Medical Science Faculty of Medical Technology participated in the 2026 Itabashi City Marathon as medical volunteers atItabashi Campus

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, 129 first and second-year students and faculty members from Emergency Medical Technician Course of the Department of Department of Sport and Medical Science Faculty of Medical Technology, Teikyo University, participated as medical volunteers in the 2026 Itabashi City Marathon held in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo.
The Itabashi City Marathon is a full marathon held on a course certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and World Athletics (WA), and students participate in volunteer activities to support the operation of the event every year.
While the weather was favorable on the day, the rising temperatures led to many runners suffering from heatstroke and dehydration. The students utilized the knowledge and skills they had cultivated through their studies to provide appropriate support at each aid station, contributing to the safety of the runners.
Through this activity, the students learned about the importance of information sharing and crisis management in the field, and received words of gratitude from the runners, which gave them a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the significance of rescue activities.

Going forward, our university will continue to expand opportunities for practical learning and actively engage in activities that contribute to the local community.
