Students and faculty from Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology exhibited at the "Omuta Industrial Festa" atFukuoka Campus

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology set up a booth at the "Omuta Industrial Festa" held at Aeon Mall Omuta (Omuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture). Seven students and five faculty members from Department of Radiological Technology and Department of Medical Technology, along with one faculty member from the Department of Department of Information and Electronic Engineering of the Faculty Faculty of Science and Engineering, participated.
This event is held with the aim of introducing the attractive industries and companies in Omuta City to the general public. In particular, it is intended to provide high school, junior high school, and elementary school students, who will be the leaders of the next generation, with opportunities for career development through company introductions and work experience, and to foster awareness of future employment in the local area.

On the day of the event, we held three activities: "Learn with AR! A game to find dangerous things that can get stuck in your throat," "Infiltrate a radiation testing room with VR! An experience of measuring radiation in everyday life."
In the "Find the Dangerous Things That Can Get You Choked" game, participants learned about foods and foreign objects that pose a choking hazard using AR (augmented reality), deepening their understanding of the dangers lurking in everyday life in a fun way. In the radiology examination room experience, participants used VR (virtual reality) headsets to experience the inside of an angiography room, a place they normally cannot enter, with a 360-degree view. Many were surprised by the immersive visuals that made them feel as if they were actually infiltrating a place where examinations are being conducted. In the radiation measurement experience, participants experienced measuring the trace amounts of radiation emitted from everyday substances such as salt, providing an opportunity to stimulate their interest in science by visualizing invisible radiation with numerical values.
Additionally, two students from our university took to a special stage and confidently introduced the university's educational content and the highlights of the booths from a student's perspective.
The day was blessed with beautiful, clear spring weather, and the venue was bustling with more visitors than usual. People of all ages, from young children to the elderly, stopped by our university's booth. Thank you very much to everyone who stopped by.

This exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for local residents to directly experience a part of our university's education and research. Fukuoka Campus will continue to deepen its collaboration with the local community and actively engage in information dissemination and educational support utilizing the latest technologies.
