On Friday, March 13, 2026, the presentation judging for the business contest "TEIKYO Startup Award" was held at Teikyo University's Kasumigaseki Campus.
Teikyo University has been selected for the "University-Based Startup Creation Support Project" implemented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in fiscal year 2025, and is working on various measures to become a hub for creating startups with practical and innovative technologies. This contest was held as part of that project, targeting Graduate School and graduate students, faculty and staff, and alumni who are interested in entrepreneurship.
In the presentation judging, finalists selected through document screening presented their business ideas, which they had refined through repeated testing of their research results and ideas toward commercialization. In addition, there was a "Senior Entrepreneur Pitch" by faculty members of the university with entrepreneurial experience, in which they shared their experiences leading up to starting a business and presented the products and services that their companies actually provide, while also offering encouragement to participants who aspire to start their own businesses.
At the awards ceremony held towards the end of the contest, the finalists who achieved outstanding results were presented with certificates of commendation and grants of support to be used for commercialization and social implementation, by the university's Chairman the Board, Yoshihito Okinaga.
