Kana Iwano, head coach of the Teikyo University Cheerleading Club will appear on the full-fledged documentary program "“One’s way”- Seekers of Knowledge," which will air on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 PM.
In 2024, Teikyo University's Cheerleading Club "BUFFALOS" achieved their seventh overall victory at the All Japan Intercollegiate Cheerleading Championships, their third consecutive win. That year, they also won the Kanto Championships and JAPAN CUP 2024, achieving a triple crown for the season. Leading this team is coach Kana Iwano.
Cheerleading is about leading the cheering and giving energy and power to those who watch. In addition to cheering for university baseball and Ekiden (Road Relay) Club, they are also focusing on activities to become the best in Japan as a sport, as well as activities to contribute to society and the local community. What is distinctive is the coaching style that values the autonomy of the athletes, with Coach Iwano saying, "Even if I have 100 things I want to say, I will only say one."
