From March 4th (Wed) to 6th (Fri), 2026, Asia International Institute of Infectious Diseases Control, Teikyo University hosted a short-term medical training course for 2025, welcoming four doctors from Vietnam National Children’s Hospital.
Our university and the hospital have signed an MOU, and this training program was conducted with the aim of sharing the realities of pediatric medicine and infectious disease treatment and research in Japan, and to foster continued collaboration and human resource development between the two institutions. The hospital is also an institution that our medical students visit every year for BSL (Basic School of Medicine training, and various initiatives are underway, including collaboration between researchers and student training exchanges.
In the first half of this training course, we toured the university hospital, including the wards and NICU, and listened to lectures by researchers and doctors, deepening our understanding of the realities of pediatric medicine in Japan and the flow of research from basic to clinical. In the second half of the training course, we visited the National Center for Global Health and Medicine and the Community Center akta, where we learned about the realities of data science research, mainly focusing on HIV infection, and the field of sexually transmitted infection prevention activities.
Taking this meaningful opportunity as a starting point, we will further deepen exchanges in educational and research activities, promote cooperation and human resource development in the medical field, and strive for the further development of friendly relations between our two countries.
