On Friday, February 13, 2026, the International Collaborative Research and International Exchange Good Practices Exchange Meeting was held at Teikyo University's Itabashi Campus, sponsored by the University's Global Initiative Office. The purpose of this exchange meeting was for faculty members conducting international research and staff members responsible for international exchange to share their experiences and utilize them in research and exchange activities on campus.
Following opening remarks by Makoto Asashima, Director of Chairman, President, Yoshihito Okinaga, and Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization, faculty members from the four campuses of the university took the podium to give presentations on a variety of themes unique to a university with medical, science and engineering, and liberal arts departments. Faculty members Faculty of Medical Technology Department of Clinical Laboratory Science Professor Koichi Suzuki, Faculty of Economics Department of Business Administration Professor Rika Masuda, Faculty of Science and Engineering Department of Integrated Science and Engineering Professor Shohei Sakuta, Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology Department of Medical Technology Senior Assistant Professor Narumi Shioi reported their experiences of international joint research in Africa and other Asian countries.
Katsuji Oikawa, Kaede Motohashi, Akina Watanabe, Midori Matsuoka, and Rika Ishida from the four campuses, who are involved in international exchange on a daily basis, reported on their efforts in international activities tailored to the characteristics of their respective campuses. They also introduced good practices of each faculty and staff member, and presented the process of difficulties they faced in getting to that point.
The discussion that followed was lively and lively, with a lively exchange of opinions. Finally, Executive Director and Vice President Hiroko Okinaga of the University spoke of her expectations for micro-actions towards internationalization by each faculty member.
After the event, faculty and staff shared their thoughts, saying things like, "This was encouraging for faculty and staff who will be involved in international collaborative research and international exchange in the future," and "I would like to try it myself." The event provided an opportunity for over 100 faculty and staff to discuss practical topics related to the internationalization of the university.
Our university will continue to promote international collaborative research and exchange through internationalization, and utilize the results for the benefit of society.
