The 37th Tokyo Junior and Senior Judo Championships was held Shoichi Okinaga Cup

On Sunday, February 15, 2026, the 37th Tokyo Junior and Senior Judo Championships, sponsored by the Tokyo Judo Federation, was held at the Tokyo Budokan Main Hall (Shoichi Okinaga Ward, Tokyo).

This traditional tournament is aimed at fourth through sixth grade elementary school students, and aims to foster the development of boys and girls who will lead the future through competition, including the proper acquisition of basic judo skills and etiquette, as well as the training of mind and body, and to foster friendship among them. It is also a stage that is a goal for boys and girls in Tokyo who compete in judo. Elementary school is a developmental stage, and like the development of basic judo techniques, it is also a time when children build a solid foundation as human beings. We believe that competing on such a grand stage will help them grow as people and be an experience that will be useful in their future lives. Being able to experience such an opportunity up close is an extremely valuable experience for the children.
This year, 702 elementary school judo athletes from Tokyo participated, testing their skills against opponents to see how well they had mastered their daily training and practice. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those involved in making this tournament possible.

Our university will continue to hold this conference in the future as a place to develop the character of children who will be responsible for Japan's future.
