Hachioji CampusDepartment of Sport and Medical Science seminar held a multi-sports event for Teikyo Kindergarten children.

On Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Teikyo Kindergarten (Itabashi-ku, Tokyo), students from the seminar of Yumiko Uchiyama, Senior Assistant Professor Faculty of Medical Technology Department of Sport and Medical Science Teikyo University, and Fumihiro Hosokawa, Assistant Professor the same department, jointly held a multi-sports event for the older kindergarteners.

This project is being carried out jointly by Uchiyama and Hosokawa seminars, and aims to encourage older children, who are at a stage where physical function, thinking ability, and social development are particularly pronounced, to become interested in their own bodies by learning about the functions of bones and muscles, and to experience a variety of movements through "multi-sports."
On the day, students from Uchiyama's seminar performed a theatrical performance to teach health education about the structure and function of the body, while students from Hosokawa's seminar set up three booths where the children could enjoy "running, kicking, and throwing," making for an ingenious event.

Teikyo University will continue to hold sports events that are closely connected to the local community, creating opportunities for children to experience sports.
