Harvard Special Session 2026 were held at Teikyo University's Itabashi Campus from Monday, January 5th to Tuesday, January 20th, 2026. Hosted by the Graduate Graduate School of Public Health, the lectures featured Senior Assistant Professor from Harvard University Graduate School University of Oxford, two of the university's academic partner institutions, and were intensive lectures on the five fundamental areas of public health.
This year, we invited four lecturers from Harvard University: Biostatistics Associate Professor David Wypij, Occupational and Environmental Health Associate Professor Jaime Hart, Social Epidemiology Professor Ichiro Kawachi, Epidemiology Professor Murray Mittleman, and Health Economics University of Oxford Alastair Gray from Professor.
The lectures provided a practical and participatory learning environment, with lively question and answer sessions and small group discussions, just as in the local lectures. Public health is a cross-disciplinary field of study, and the participants had the opportunity to learn from faculty members from leading universities around the world on topics such as social disparities and health, health economics, epidemiology and biostatistics, which are necessary backgrounds for data analysis, and the environment and health.
In addition, many students from overseas partner universities such as Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, University of the Philippines, Manila, and Taipei Medical University participated in this lecture. In addition, faculty members and students from various faculties on our campuses participated, as well as from other universities and companies in Japan. Through the exchange program organized by students of Graduate School of Public Health, the face-to-face program promoted interaction among students, leading to the formation of an international academic community.
Graduate School of Public Health will further strengthen its collaboration with overseas partner schools, domestic and international universities, and other faculties within our university, and will contribute to society through the development of education and research in the field of public health and the development of human resources.
