On Friday, January 2, 2026, the Teikyo University Calligraphy Club held a calligraphy performance at AEON Mall Tamadaira no Mori (Hino City, Tokyo) as part of a New Year's industry-academia collaboration project, and also helped with visitor participation and interior decorations.
On the day, the group presented a calligraphy performance that incorporated a theme related to the zodiac sign for 2026, the horse, and was structured to create a New Year's atmosphere. They also held an experience event using the brushes used in the performance, where club members gave advice on how to handle the brushes and key points to keep in mind when writing, allowing visitors to try out the brushwork used in the performance. As for interior decoration, they provided the letters to be used in the staircase art for New Year's decorations, and also exhibited performance works. They also participated in the planning and production of votive plaque panels, which they implemented as part of visitor participation content.
The Calligraphy Club will continue to expand the scope of its activities while valuing collaboration with local communities and businesses.
