On Saturday, December 13, 2025, the Teikyo University Cheerleading Club BUFFALOS (hereinafter referred to as BUFFALOS) competed in the 12th World Championships as Japan's representative in the senior mixed division, winning the championship. Japan's national team has won this division eight times in the past, and BUFFALOS achieved their second consecutive victory, following the previous tournament held in 2023.
The following day, the 37th All Japan Student Championships was held at the same venue, with seven BUFFALOS teams competing in five divisions, including the exhibition, and winning three: the mixed freestyle competition in Division 1, the mixed freestyle competition in Division 2, and the spirits competition. This season, after missing out on victory at JAPANCUP 2025, the team had been practicing and training hard with the goal of winning this tournament, but unfortunately they missed out on their goal of winning Division 1 overall. Even though the athletes' disappointment was evident after their performances, it was very impressive to see them smiling like cheerleaders and bringing courage and energy to the audience.
Although they missed out on the overall championship, they won three categories and performed in the exhibition, thrilling the audience with their performances, making this a competition that demonstrated the high level of BUFFALOS' overall strength.
The fourth-year students will retire after this tournament and move on to new stages in their careers. In his opening speech, Japan Cheerleading Association Chairman Setsuo Nakamura said, "I am very pleased to hear that many former cheerleading students are now active in society." We hope that the fourth-year students will demonstrate what they have cultivated at BUFFALOS as members of society and continue to achieve great things in the future.
Finally, we would like to thank you for your understanding and cooperation with BUFFALOS' activities this season. We look forward to your continued support and encouragement for BUFFALOS and our fourth-year students as they enter the workforce.
