The baseball team finished the season with its first victory in the club's history at the Yokohama Mayor's Cup Kanto Regional University Baseball Championship.

On Sunday, November 2, 2025, the Teikyo University baseball team won their first ever victory in the opening game of the 21st Kanto Regional University Baseball Championship, the Yokohama Mayor's Cup, held at Yokohama Stadium (Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture), against Kanto Gakuin University of the Kanagawa University Baseball League. This marked the team's second consecutive year in the Kanto Regional University Baseball Championship.

The Metropolitan University Baseball League, to which our baseball team belongs, allows the winner and runner-up of the fall league to compete in the Kanto Regional University Baseball Championship. The fall league was a close contest, with the runner-up not being decided until the final game. On October 28, we narrowly defeated Nippon Sport Science University, securing our ticket to the Kanto tournament. In the first game against the Kanto Graduate School, pitcher Masao Miyata (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology), who had pitched in 17 games in the spring and fall leagues, started. Despite being behind first, the team achieved victory thanks to home runs by Kenta Makihara (1st year, Faculty of Medical Technology) and Aito Hikosaka (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology), hits by captain Rui Miyagi (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology) and Tatsumi Ikeda (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology), and tenacious pitching by the pitching staff, including vice-captain Haruma Kuno (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology), securing the team's first victory in the team's history. Although they were unfortunately defeated in the second round against Kyorin University, it was a culmination of Team Miyagi's efforts to bring a major victory to the club.
After completing all the games in 2025, Captain Miyagi, who led the team for a year, reflected, "This year's team has worked hard all year towards our goal of becoming the best in Japan, with the bitterness of our losses in last year's national tournament in the spring and the Kanto tournament in the fall in our hearts. In the spring league, we finished in fourth place, far from winning the league championship, which made it a very disappointing season. All of our team members were able to overcome this hot summer, and I felt that our team strength had been honed. We had a series of tough games in the fall league, but thanks to Teikyo University's strength in tenacious baseball, we managed to qualify for the Kanto tournament, and thanks to the support of everyone, we were able to achieve our first victory since the club was founded. Although we fell short of our team goal of becoming the best in Japan this year, I believe our juniors will take on the challenge again. We hope for your continued warm support. Thank you for your continued support this year."

With this tournament, the fourth-year students have retired and the team has been taken over by the third-year students. Thank you for your warm support up to now. There is still a little time until the start of next year's spring league, but please keep an eye on the new hardball baseball team.
