On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the seminar of Professor Yoshimura Hisao of Department of Tourism Management Faculty of Economics Teikyo University, invited Mari Usui, Director of Public Relations at JTB Corporation, as a guest speaker to give a lecture.
The lecture covered a wide range of topics, including an overview of the tourism industry, the wide range of business areas of the JTB Group, and the work styles of employees involved in its offices around the world. There was also a quiz-style session during the lecture, and time was set aside for discussion on topics tailored to students about to embark on their job-hunting journey, such as "What is the difference between working adults and students?" The students listened intently to the lecture. In particular, there were powerful messages for the students from three words that Usui shared about the values he has cultivated: "There is value in genuine failure," "Don't get caught up in success, get caught up in growth," and "Don't search for the right answer, make the path you choose the right one."
In the question and answer session after the lecture, students asked a variety of questions, including "How do you view overtourism?", "What are some of the strategies you use to communicate with people you meet for the first time?", and "What is important in responding to globalization?", leading to a lively exchange of opinions. Our university will continue to provide a place for Practical learning education, as stated in Educational Guidelines.
