Singapore University of Social Sciences and Teikyo University sign MOU

On Friday, November 21, 2025, Teikyo University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). Established in 2017, SUSS is one of Singapore's six national universities and specializes in social sciences and practical education. Its education focuses in the fields of healthcare and social systems.
The signing of this agreement took place in conjunction with the Intercontinental Alliance for Integrated Care (IAIC) 2025 *, held on Friday, November 21st and Saturday, November 22nd, 2025. Professor Shinji Sato of the Department Department of Sport and Medical Science Faculty of Medical Technology, and Associate Professor Rieko Masuyama of the Department Department of Clinical Laboratory Science, and Ryohei Ishizuka (a third-year Graduate School of Public Health) traveled to Singapore to join IAIC, tour the site, and exchange opinions with universities, medical institutions, and social security-related organizations from each country.
At the IAIC2025 reception, the first report on an international collaborative study on elderly care was presented, providing an opportunity to strongly feel the potential for international comparisons of community-based integrated care and cross-border academic collaboration. Furthermore, during the group discussion, participants shared their views on the need for a system to bridge the gap between medical care and the community in Japan, as well as the need for link workers and well-being coordinators.
It is expected that the knowledge and networks gained through this visit will be utilized to further develop collaborations, such as in future international joint research and to create opportunities for student and faculty exchange.

  • * IAIC2025 is an annual event hosted by SUSS to promote international collaboration on integrated care and ageing, and aims to present the first multi-regional research on ageing and well-aging.
