Selected for Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "University Startup Creation Support Project"
Teikyo University Educational Corporation has been selected as one of nine universities to participate in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "University-Based Startup Creation Support Project."
In its startup strategy "Global Innovation with STARTUPS," formulated in November 2022, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has set out a "10x10x10 Innovation Vision to Pave the Way for the Future," which aims to increase the number of unicorns, new businesses, and public-private collaborations originating in Tokyo by ten times over the next five years, and is working to create startups that will be active globally and expand the scope of startups. As part of this initiative, this project leverages Tokyo's strengths as a city with a concentration of universities, which are hubs of knowledge, to support the commercialization of excellent research seeds and ideas, and our university has been selected for the "Business Step-Up Support" program.
Through this project, the university will develop a companion support program, promote exchanges using the incubation facility "Teikyo Innovation Gate," and share information with universities in Tokyo, supporting the commercialization of research results and ideas from faculty, staff, and students in a wide range of fields, including medicine and healthcare.
