Professor Yoshimi of Okinaga Research Institute led an exercise program at an exercise class for older children.

Every Thursday from September to October 2025, Professor Koji Yoshimi of Okinaga Research Institute of Teikyo University taught an exercise program for older children called "Preventing injuries when falling! Exercise classes to learn ukemi (defeat) techniques" at the Sugamo Sports Center Martial Arts Hall (Toshima-ku, Tokyo). This class is being held as part of the university's social collaboration project.

In the exercise class, the children played toe rock-paper-scissors games to develop their sense of body movement, and exercises that imitated the movements of various animals such as frogs and sea otters, with the goal of learning body movements that would prevent injury if they fell. They also learned how to use their bodies in a way that leads to the defensive technique of judo. The children were full of energy as they moved their bodies with all their might on the tatami mat, and with each session they could be seen smiling more and more and taking on the challenge with confidence. On the final day, the children had a blast trying out the experience of "throwing the teacher."
In a survey of parents conducted after the program, comments such as "My child looked forward to it every week" and "The instruction tailored to each child motivated and gave them confidence" were received, and many parents expressed their desire for the program to continue and be held regularly.

Teikyo University will continue to actively engage in social collaboration in the future.
