Students and faculty from Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology participated in a work experience program hosted by Omuta City Miki Junior High School.Fukuoka Campus

On Thursday, October 30, 2025, students and faculty from Teikyo University's Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology participated in "Professionals in Omuta (Miki JHS)," a work experience program for second-year junior high school students hosted by Omuta City Miki Junior High School (Omuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture).
The school was newly established in April 2025 as part of a reorganization of junior high schools in Omuta City, and this visit was made possible at the request of the school.

The program featured nine student representatives from Department of Physical Therapy and Department of Medical Technology Emergency Medical Technician Course along with three faculty and staff members. The program began with a staff member's introduction to Fukuoka Campus and a description of the work and desired profile of university employees. A student representative then gave a presentation outlining their department and course, as well as their desired career. Following this, an experience corner was set up, where, under the guidance of students, students were given hands-on experience using medical equipment and dummies used in practical training, deepening their understanding of the medical profession they aspire to. Students actively engaged in communication, and while some initially appeared nervous, smiles gradually appeared on their faces, creating a lively atmosphere in the classroom. The students' active participation in planning and participating in the program on the day demonstrated the fruits of their learning through their daily life, studies, and extracurricular activities at Fukuoka Campus.

We hope that this work experience will provide the students with an opportunity to think about their future career paths and aspirations, and it was a meaningful experience for our university as well.
Fukuoka Campus will continue to actively engage in Community Engagement placing emphasis on ties with the local community.
