A report session on hygiene and public health training by School of Medicine students was held atItabashi Campus

On Friday, October 24, 2025, a report session on clinical training in Vietnam was held by fifth-year School of Medicine students at Teikyo University's Itabashi Campus.
The students visited Vietnam in July of the same year, learning about infection control, international medicine, and the medical situation in Vietnam. They deepened their understanding from multiple perspectives and reported on their experiences using slides. The report focused on the impact of the positioning of hospitals in Vietnam and the distribution of medical resources on clinical practice. They also used specific examples to show that the composition of major target diseases differs significantly from Japan, with a high proportion of infectious and tropical diseases, and that even for the same disease, the incidence and epidemic patterns differ significantly from Japan. Furthermore, there was lively discussion about how infection control, practiced under limited resources, differs from standard practices in Japan and how it is adapted to the situation. Learning about these differences in systems, resources, disease composition, and infection control measures gave the students a deeper understanding of the essence of public health, which was a major achievement.
Through this presentation, the students were able to compare what they learned locally with clinical and public health practices in Japan, and gain a perspective that will help them apply this to their future studies and practice. Teikyo University will continue to contribute to improving the quality of students' learning and medical activities, and aim to foster medical professionals with an international perspective.
