On Saturday, November 1, 2025, Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus. This event was held as part of the "TEIKYO Multi-Sports Carnival," which aims to give elementary school students in the Tama area the opportunity to experience the joy of sports through interactions with various clubs from the university's Student Association Athletic Bureau.
On the day, even beginners were welcome to join empty-handed, and around 50 elementary school students participated, with the theme being to hit lots of balls while having fun moving their bodies at their own pace. After warming up and getting familiar with the balls and rackets, the children actually picked up rackets and practiced hitting the ball. With advice from soft tennis club members, many children, who were trying soft tennis for the first time, gradually got the hang of hitting the ball with the racket and experienced the fun of soft tennis.
In the second half, the students practiced hitting the ball back, and there were some bold challenges, such as asking the club members to hit the ball harder. At the end of the event, the club members presented the students with original balls stamped with "Teebo," the mascot character of Hachioji Campus, bringing the event to a close on a lively note.
Teikyo University will continue to hold sports events that are closely connected to the local community, creating opportunities for children to experience sports.
