The Teikyo University Ekiden (Road Relay) Club placed 6th at the 57th All-Japan Intercollegiate Ekiden Championships (All-Japan Intercollegiate Ekiden) held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, earning a seeded spot in the next tournament. This tournament is one of the three major ekiden races in the world of university ekiden, and 25 universities that have passed regional selection will compete over 106.8 kilometers of eight sections from Atsuta Shrine in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture to Ise Shrine in Ise City, Mie Prefecture.
Yoshihiro Kusuoka (3rd year, Faculty of Medical Technology) won the section prize in the 2nd section, and Sota Taniguchi (3rd year, Faculty of Medical Technology) ran well in the 4th section, finishing 3rd, and the team maintained their position in the top ranks from the beginning, finishing in 6th place and earning a seed right for the second year in a row. In addition, they ran faster than last year's university record in 7 out of 8 sections, and although they fell just short of their goal of beating the top 5, it was a race with many lessons learned that will help them in the next Hakone Ekiden.
Thank you to everyone who cheered us on. We hope you will continue to support our university Ekiden (Road Relay) Club.
