The Mayor of Hachioji visited Hachioji Campus to encourage the Teikyo University Rugby Football Club and to tour the Sports Medicine CenterHachioji Campus

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Hachioji Mayor Kazuo Hatsuzuku visited Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus.

On the day, at the Momogusa Ground, the practice field for the Teikyo University Rugby Football Club, the Mayor expressed his gratitude to Rugby Football Club for their daily contributions to the community and gave them powerful words of encouragement as they strive to win the National University Rugby Football Championship for the fifth consecutive year. As a token of his gratitude, the Rugby Football Club club captain, Yoshio Omachi (4th year Faculty of Education), presented the Mayor with a signed Rugby Football Club uniform. Afterwards, the Mayor had a chat with the players and observed practice together with Rugby Football Club coach, Tomokazu Soma.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister visited Teikyo University Institute of Sports Science & Medicine which supports top athletes in preventing and treating sports injuries and improving their competitive abilities. There, he toured some of the country's leading facilities, including training rooms, hyperbaric oxygen therapy rooms, and environmental control rooms, as well as the cutting-edge sports medicine support system.
Teikyo University will continue to contribute to the local community, and Rugby Football Club will strive to win the tournament for the fifth consecutive year.
