Teikyo University ELS Study Group held a CPR training session atItabashi Campus

On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the Teikyo University ELS Study Group held a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) training session for faculty and staff of Tokyo Kasei University Junior and Senior High School and social education trainee students.

The Teikyo University ELS Study Group, named after the initials of Emergency Life Support, is based in Kita Ward, Tokyo, and as its name suggests, is dedicated to promoting and raising awareness of first aid (chest compressions, AEDs, bleeding control, etc.) so that people can respond to emergencies that may occur in everyday life. The group has previously held numerous CPR training sessions for junior high school students and the general public, striving to improve local lifesaving capabilities. Furthermore, as educational institutions located in Itabashi and Kita Wards, Tokyo, the group and Tokyo Kasei University are promoting community-based collaboration and social contribution activities. This seminar was held at the university's affiliated junior and senior high school as part of these efforts, at the university's request.

On the day, practical instruction was given on chest compressions, AED operation, etc., with the aim of enabling participants to provide appropriate first aid in the event of cardiac arrest or an accident. By each participant acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for lifesaving, it is expected that this will not only improve safety, but also strengthen disaster prevention and mitigation systems throughout the region.
This seminar was extremely well-received, and there are discussions about holding seminars for kindergartens and parents in the future. The ELS Research Group will continue to deepen its collaboration with Tokyo Kasei University, and in addition to holding CPR seminars for students, will contribute to the dissemination of first aid and improving local lifesaving capabilities.
