Associate Professor Takayama of Faculty of Science and Engineering received his second Chairman's Award at the Yeast Genetics Forum.Utsunomiya Campus

At the 58th Yeast Genetics Forum Research Presentation Meeting held at Chiba University (Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture) from Wednesday, September 3rd to Friday, September 5th, 2025, Associate Professor Environment and Biotechnology Course at Teikyo University's Faculty of Science and Engineering Department of Integrated Science and Engineering presented a research paper entitled "The Effects of Administration of Oil-Producing Yeast on Japanese Eels," and won the Chairman's Award. This marks Associate Professor Takayama's second time receiving the Chairman's Award, having previously won it in 2018 for her lecture entitled "Attempts at Molecular Genetic Analysis of Oil-Producing Yeast."

The Yeast Genetics Forum is a rare academic society with a culture of lively discussion regardless of title, and attracts yeast researchers from a wide range of fields who, while based on yeast genetics, also incorporate elements of data science. Among these, the development of applied research based on basic yeast research was highly praised, leading to this award.
We will continue to build on our basic research into yeast and advance research that can benefit society.
