International students from our university participated in a roundtable discussion on the theme of "Traditional Culture Experiential Learning" hosted by the University Consortium Hachioji.Hachioji Campus

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the 2025 International Student Roundtable was held in Hachioji, Tokyo, hosted by the University Consortium Hachioji, and was attended by international students from Teikyo University.
This event is held every year in the form of a roundtable discussion that incorporates cultural experiences and local interaction, with the aim of supporting the lives of international students attending the Hachioji campus and promoting exchanges.

This year's theme was "Traditional Cultural Experiential Learning," and approximately 30 international students from 10 universities, including ours, attended.
In the morning, the students participated in the "Traditional Tamatebako" program, where they enjoyed riding in a rickshaw, playing traditional games such as kendama and otedama, and also experiencing the tea ceremony, tasting freshly prepared matcha green tea. In the afternoon, they viewed shadow puppets from the "Hachioji Shadow Project" by the Tokyo Zokei Graduate School, deepening their cultural understanding through visual arts.
During the group work held in the latter half of the event, participants actively exchanged opinions, and our students were seen actively sharing their own thoughts. Participants commented, "I was happy to make new friends," and "It was a valuable experience and I had a lot of fun," making the day a great opportunity for learning and interaction.
Our university will continue to provide opportunities for international students to experience Japanese culture and deepen mutual understanding.
