On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Teikyo University Dance Club Couleur Libre won first place in the GIRLS division at the inter-university K-POP cover dance contest "UNIKP2025 vol.12" held at Shinjuku ReNY (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), marking their first victory.
This is the Kanto preliminary for a university-only K-POP cover dance competition, where participants compete not only for choreography but also for entertainment value such as stage direction and composition. UNIKP is an abbreviation for "University x KPOP" and is a place for university students from all over Japan to express their passion for K-POP. They perform on a stage with professional lighting and sound, and are judged by experts and audience votes. Couleur Libre performed "HANDS UP" and "MEOW" by the K-POP girl group "MEOVV", and were praised for the perfection of the choreography, stage composition, and direction. One of the participating students commented, "Since we were a performance with five people, we were conscious of moving our bodies more widely so that we could use the stage more widely. In the final competition, we will all do our best to keep up this momentum and grab the championship."
The final competition will be held at Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO) on Monday, September 1, 2025. The winning work will also be shown at the "Dance Circle Couleur Libre Presentation" to be held at the Teikyo University Hachioji Campus Small Hall from 6:30 pm on Friday, July 25. We appreciate your continued support.
