On Saturday, June 28, 2025, a lecture on preconception care was held by faculty from the Department of Maternal Nursing Department of Nursing Teikyo University Faculty of Medical Technology, at Kita-Topia (Kita-ku, Tokyo). This lecture was held at the request of Kita-ku, and was held three times last year.
Preconception care refers to health management for future pregnancies, and is an important initiative not only for women planning to become pregnant, but also for all women of childbearing age and their partners. For the first session of the 2025 academic year, Department Senior Assistant Professor Hiroko Nukuta spoke to Kita Ward residents aged 18 to 39 about knowledge, lifestyle habits, and testing related to future pregnancy and childbirth from the perspective of midwife. Thirty-three people attended the event, including many men as well as women, and even couples.
We will continue to strengthen our collaboration with Kita Ward in order to further develop this course.
