On Thursday, June 12, 2025, the results of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's FY2024 supplementary budget "Recurrent Education Ecosystem Construction Support Project" were announced, and Teikyo University's program was selected.
This support project supports efforts by universities and other institutions to collaborate with local communities and industry to create recurrent education systems. With the aim of achieving sustainable development in Japanese society and local communities, universities will collaborate and cooperate with local communities and industry to develop educational programs that meet the needs of human resources, including business managers. This will promote the establishment of a recurrent education platform and a Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration-government collaboration system.
This time, Teikyo University's program "Enhancing regional corporate strength and regional co-creation through the construction of the 'Tochigi Learning Platform for Improving Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration Resource Recruitment and Retention'" was selected for Menu 1, "Supporting the construction of a recurrent education platform through industry-academia-government collaboration," which focuses on regional revitalization.
The program aims to improve the recruitment and retention capabilities of local companies in Tochigi Prefecture, where Utsunomiya Campus is located, by collaborating with the university. The program aims to support the development of local human resources by developing educational programs that provide the skills and knowledge companies are looking for and implementing them jointly with the university. The program also aims to promote projects aimed at resolving local issues through collaboration between the university and the company, leading to regional co-creation.
Of the 43 applications, 27 were accepted, with two private universities, including ours, being selected.
Through this selected project, Teikyo University will strengthen its ties with local companies in Tochigi Prefecture and proceed with building a recurrent education platform to promote regional co-creation.
