The calligraphy club performed a calligraphy performance at the Osaka Kansai Expo.

On Sunday, May 11, 2025, the Teikyo University Calligraphy Club performed a calligraphy performance at the Osaka-Kansai Expo "Connecting Japanese Calligraphy to the Future - Beyond Sky, Sea, and Time" (sponsored by the Japan Calligraphy Institute and the Yomiuri Shimbun). Atsuya Fukui, Associate Professor the Department of Japanese Cultures of Faculty of Liberal Arts, and Calligraphy Club Director, said, "We've been preparing with the students, and we're determined to give it our all, so please support us. The sashes the students are wearing were donated by the Hachioji Textile Industry Association, and we hope to work hard with pride in our hometown." During the calligraphy performance, the students wrote a message of peace to the world, "Peace and Kindness among Nations" on four panels, and performed the lyrics to the songs "SAKURA" and "Jupiter." The students commented, "We were nervous to perform on such a big stage, but we had a great time," and "We're so happy that so many people came to watch and applaud us. It was a truly valuable opportunity."
The exhibition space also featured works by Yuuki Sato (graduated from Graduate School of Liberal Arts in 2025), who won the Grand Prize at the 29th All Japan High School and University Student Calligraphy Exhibition.
Thank you to everyone who watched and everyone involved.
