On Friday, March 7, 2025, Masakazu Hirota, Associate Professor the Department Department of Orthoptics Faculty of Medical Technology Teikyo University, received the Excellence Award at the 50th Grant Research Results Presentation held by the Japan Health Development Foundation.
The foundation operates a comprehensive health checkup center and develops and researches health promotion programs that utilize the natural environment, such as hot spring therapy and climate therapy, to promote and restore the health of the nation, and provides grants for research that will lead to the promotion of national health.
Associate Professor Hirota's research theme, "Verifying the effectiveness of foot baths in improving smartphone presbyopia," was selected for the foundation's 2024 grant research, and at this results presentation he presented research results suggesting that foot baths using hot spring water may improve focal accommodation response, and the results were highly evaluated, leading to the award. We look forward to Associate Professor Hirota's continued success in the future.
