On Saturday, April 19, 2025, the 21st round of the League H, Japan's top handball league, was held at Higashin Arena (Sumida-ku, Tokyo) with Siegstar Tokyo facing Fukui Eiheiji Blue Thunder, and the Teikyo University Cheerleading Club BUFFALOS performed at the halftime show of the exhibition match.
The team had previously performed the "Shuwa Shuwa Dance☆" to promote the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics at the request of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and after seeing it, Siegstar Tokyo asked them to also perform at the halftime show for the exhibition match, which led to their appearance this time.
In the exhibition match, the Deaf Handball Team, which aims to compete in the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics, faced off against the Tokyo Metropolitan Koiwa High School Boys' Handball Club. As a halftime show, they performed an arrangement of the "Shuwa Shuwa Dance☆," a dance created to encourage children to learn sign language vocabulary, incorporating elements of cheerleading. This was an opportunity for the many people who came to watch the match to learn about the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics.
Our university's Cheerleading Club aims to be the best university in Japan in cheerleading competitions, and will continue to support you in the future.
