On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, the Embassy of Portugal in Japan, which was instrumental in concluding the MOU (International Exchange Agreement) between Teikyo University and University of Coimbra (Portugal), which was signed in August 2024, held a ceremony at the Embassy to celebrate the connection between the two universities.

The ceremony included a research presentation by a student from our Hachioji Campus on the history of friendly relations between Japan and Portugal, followed by a practical training session on emergency medical care by the Teikyo University ACLS Study Group. This was followed by video messages from Professor João Nuno Calvão da Silva, Vice President University of Coimbra, and His Excellency Makoto Ota, Ambassador of Japan to Portugal. Finally, our university's Chairman and President Yoshihito Okinaga delivered a letter of appreciation to His Excellency Gilberto Jorge de Sousa JERÓNIMO, Ambassador of Portugal to Japan, and the staff of the embassy, along with words of thanks.
Our university will continue to work towards furthering exchanges with University of Coimbra and further deepening ties between Japan and Portugal.
